The whole of June is known as Pride Month, but the biggest events happen at the end of the month on what is now called Pride Weekend. There are various activities that take place in New York during Pride. The very next year, the events were inaugurated as the Christopher Street Liberation Day, the starting point for the Pride. The protests are considered to be the pinnacle of the events that led to the gay liberation movement and helped to establish LGBTQIA+ rights in the United States. On Christopher Street, it passes Stonewall Inn, which was the site of the Stonewall Riots in 1969. The Pride Parade traverses Fifth Avenue and ends in Greenwich Village. The NYC Pride March is probably the best-known of all the NYC Pride events. A celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, culture and pride in New York City. New York Pride (formerly known as Gay Pride) is an annual event.
